The Infant Potty Training Trailblazer: Laurie Boucke Interview – part two of this wonderful interview

Book Author Laurie Boucke
Last time on the Go Diaper Free Podcast I shared the first part of my interview with author Laurie Boucke, the woman whom I consider to be the absolute trailblazer in bringing infant potty training to the Western culture back in the late 70's and onward.
Laurie has been an EC mentor for over 30 years, and in this episode we discover her best advice for those who are new to Elimination Communication, or having difficulty with it.
We will also learn how her book came about in a time when there simply was no Internet, and how Laurie decided to frame her EC methodology (hint: it has to do with in-arms and sitting phases).
She also shares what age is best to start Elimination Communication, and what age is best to start potty training (and how age can determine which potty training method to use).
Resources mentioned in this podcast include her website and DVD at http://pottywhispering.net, her book Infant Potty Training: A Gentle and Primeval Method Adapted to Modern Living by Laurie Boucke (available here), and my book, Go Diaper Free, which Laurie applauds as the first ever multimedia guide to the practice.

I hope you enjoy today's episode with Laurie Boucke. And stay tuned for our next episode where I'll cover EC Potty Pauses and Resistance. Certainly the hottest topic we've got. Subscribe on iTunes so you don't miss a single session.

Thank you to both of you! I first heard about diper free when I was pregnant with my first child four years ago but was discouraged as no one else I knew had heard about it or they thought it was a crazy idea. So I didn’t really start until my child was about 14 months and just had a very relaxed approach to it. Now with child number two I started from birth and at 5 months we are having amazing success. I still don’t know anyone outside my family who potty babies even parttime so I really appreciate being able to come on line and hear others people talking about this topic on your podcasts. So thank you again!
You’re so welcome! So many people do EC over the world, but sometimes we don’t know anyone in our direct community who does. It helps me too given that I’m ECing my 8 month old. I’m so glad you’re enjoying starting earlier with your second :) xx Andrea
This was such fun to hear! Very affirming.
I’d love to see her studies. Do you have a link?
