Pottying your baby with toddlers around

Toddler pottying a baby with EC

We are driving home from an event in Raleigh and I snapped this photo at Duke Gardens of me ECing Cooper while Isadora helped me by holding his legs and saying "pssss" while he peed.

I know a lot of you have had or are about to have a 2nd or 3rd child whom you'd like to EC, but you're having trouble focusing on EC with the new one while also parenting a toddler. You are not alone!

My advice: get your older one involved (they can and should help around the house, even if they're young) and utilize normal transition times during the day as potty time. This includes upon waking, a bit after feeding, and when about to leave or arriving somewhere.

That's it. Start there. Keep it simple.

And you will see that pottying your baby while dealing with older children IS doable and is a great learning experience for your older children (they now see pottying babies as a normal and natural part of raising a baby, and will likely do so with their future babies!).
