If your baby has been resisting or refusing the potty, out of nowhere, for anywhere from 3 days to over 6 months, then you know how frustrating it can be to maneuver your way out of it (unless you've already half-given up).
Despite your best efforts and doing everything right, you just can't seem to get out of this rut...while half the other parents around the world are getting their babies out of diapers by 1 year old, with no resistance.
You watch others potty their babies with ease, with near-total independence by 18 months, and you wonder if that can ever happen to you.
Not to mention, you've got a strong belief that EC is right for your family...if only you and your baby could get past this epic battle.
Yep. I get it. And I've been there. But I didn't stay there for very long. Now, I know how to get through a pause, and better yet, how to avoid one in the first place.
You can do it, too! Imagine if...
...your baby finally cooperated in the pottying process and you hit a happy rhythm.
...you no longer felt like an EC failure...but instead felt a tinge of success.
...you could stop struggling with your baby and take the next natural step with EC...whether that's wrapping it up or continuing to build on what you've learned together.
Yes, you can take steps today to get through that potty pause, with a clear path, in less than one hour of instruction.
Since 2010, I've helped 10,000s of parents start EC with their little ones...and I can tell you that potty pauses happen to roughly 40% of all ECers.
Take Charity, for instance. Here was her struggle:
"We started EC at 4.5 months. It seemed to go really well for a few months but then our daughter really started the protest thing. When I try to take her, she either flips out or she’s already gone. We feel like its been 8 months lost with her fully reverting to going in her diaper all the time with very few catches daily. We don’t want to push her anymore or offer because she seems to get mad. It’s kind of nuts."
Maybe you've been in Charity's shoes. Or are in them right now!
Now for the good news. With my help, EC was completely wrapped up by the time Charity's baby was 18 months old, without all the struggle and heartache.
If reading Charity's story sounds like I've stalked you and taken a story directly from your daily life, let's get you into this course, stat.
2 reasons to prioritize getting through this pause:
1. The more resistance you're experiencing, the more your baby wants independence. A potty pause is, one-part, your child taking a stand to be independent. (And how refreshing it will be when you get through this...you'll give her the gift of starting to feel that independence.)
2. Potty pauses, if left to run their course, can ruin your EC practice. It's not the pause, itself, that ruins it...a pause can be a good sign. What ruins it is that most parents stop doing EC completely during the pause, stop teaching, and stop trying to put their foot down about hygiene, leaving baby to gain her coveted independence...to go in her diaper! And diaper use becomes a new habit...that baby won in a worthy battle.
No, there isn't a "magic pill" you can take that will solve this potty pause overnight. But taking the steps, TODAY, toward making this happen is easier than you'd think.
Introducing the Potty Pause Resolution minicourse...
I created the Potty Pause Resolution MiniCourse to help you understand what's happening when baby resists, learn the steps through it, and prevent another from happening (or being quite so dreadful)...all in less than an hour's time.
Now, let's see what's inside.
First, we'll cover the what, when, and why of the potty pause conundrum so you can orient yourself.
Next, I'll help you shift the vibe, tweak the environment, and re-learn your babe.
Finally, we'll take a look at your personal situation and what's causing this, the Big Moves you can take today, and exactly what to teach your baby to move through this with much more ease and, dare I say, fun.
By the time the hour's up, you'll be leaps and bounds further along than you've been in days (or months).
Sound like a plan?
Let's take a peek at the curriculum, shall we?

(Thank You Andrea!) I love every bit of it. Challenging but enjoyable (if you can say that about pottying an infant?). I'm thankful I stuck with it. What a wonderful bonding experience EC is."
