Today on the Go Diaper Free Podcast, you'll hear all about Easy Catch #2 - The Diaper Change. Miss our episode on Easy Catch #1? That's okay! You can check out the show notes and listen to the full episode here.

Babies are creatures of habit, and since the diaper change is already part of your parenting routine, why not use the opportunity to teach your child where adults put their waste? Listen to the full episode to learn why babies often pee all over you once that diaper comes off, what makes the diaper change an easy catch, and how to incorporate it into your new routine.

Tune in to the next two episodes, where I cover Easy Catch #3 and Easy Catch #4.

You will hear:

  • What to do if your child has already gone potty in their diaper
  • How a diaper change easy catch will vary depending on the age of your child
  • How to establish consistency and familiarity with the potty
  • Why babies often pee when you remove their diaper

With this catch, I struggle with knowing how long to wait before giving up and putting a new diaper on.

Yeah, that is a tough one, Sarah. Just offer each time, and eventually your LO will align with you – they see a consistent opportunity so they may begin to hold it til you take the diaper off :)

I just read this podcast today and decided to give it a try with the new baby potty we ordered from you last week. First try – my almost 8 month old had a wet diaper, but I sat him on the potty and I sat down to pee as well. When I picked him up I was pleasantly surprised to see he peed! Second try – same result!! I am shocked and so excited!!

Siobhan! That is sooooo good to hear. I am happy that I’ve been able to help you try something new. Keep it up and remember that it doesn’t guarantee a catch, but that it creates a consistent opportunity which your LO will appreciate and align to. :) xx Andrea

Preparing for our first, and I’m super curious to know what your diaper changing station looks like! You mentioned posting a picture of it– have you posted this on Facebook or anywhere else?
